Barcelona have confirmed that young forward Ansu Fati has signed a new contract until 2027.  With a release clause of 1 billion euros.

Fati has been one of the core of Barcelona’s future and his importance to the team only grew even more after Lionel Messi’s departure last summer, with Barca arriving. The process of giving away the number 10 shirt that used to belong to Messi to him as well.

They have spent a long time negotiating a new contract with Fati to replace his current contract, which expired last summer. 

The team officially confirmed on Wednesday, October 20, that the talented youngster has renewed his contract until the summer of 2027 with a release clause of up to 1 billion euros.

Barcelona will hold a photo session and a press conference on Thursday to celebrate Ansu’s new deal at the Camp Nou that secures his long-term future.

The news means that Barca have now tied down two of their biggest young stars. Pedri and Fati contract extensions and reports suggest they will now work on deals for Ronald Araujo and Gavi.

There have been a few rumors recently that some of Europe’s top clubs were taking an interest in Fati. But the youngster has made it clear he wants to continue playing his football at Barca.

The 18-year-old is one of Europe’s most exciting young talents. He is just back to action after almost 10 months on the sidelines with a knee injury. Fati scored on his comeback against Levante and again on his first start against Valencia.

Barca have already made it clear just how highly they rate Fati. By handing the teenager Lionel Messi’s No. 10 shirt. And Barca fans can now look forward to watching the youngster in action for the club for a long time to come.
