Brentford director of football Phil Giles has insisted the club’s decision to sign David Beckham’s son Romeo Beckham into the B team was based on talent. And his personality not just because of any public relations.
Romeo, son of Manchester United and England legend David. Joined Brentford on loan from Inter Miami in January.
The 20-year-old’s temporary signing has attracted much attention due to his father’s immense reputation.

Brentford’s director of football admits Romeo’s arrival has attracted more interest than Kevin Chader’s deal. Although the German is a club-record signing.
“We brought Romeo from Inter Miami on loan to the B team and it is one of the most read stories on the web and Twitter that day.” Giles said.
“It’s not public relations.”
“Romeo’s idea is that we have a relationship in football. He’s looking to train in England because he’s an Inter Miami player.”
“We say of course. But still did not ignore his step. He brought it into his environment as a player. And his character or not? If he comes in and says ‘I’m Beckham’, that was our downfall.”
“But he’s not like that. He is like his father in that. He is humble have work ethics and want to add extra hours to practice. Sometimes he has to hold back a bit.”
“The basic point is that it doesn’t matter if they are experienced professionals. or young players But the character must be correct.
